Hi, all. We thought you might be interested in these new lyrics that Da-da (our CAT patron) wrote for a song some may remember. He has generously agreed to let us share. (NOTE: He has since gifted the lyrics as a Birth-Day present for a couple who are expecting soon.)
Da-da based the lyrics on the song, “Let the River Run,” by Carly Simon for the movie, “Working Girl.” He said he wrote them to express the HUGE emotion SOURCE and Spirit and our Angel friends are experiencing regarding humanity’s current division and eventual spiritual unfoldment.
Da-da also said he wanted to, “bring the tune away from being purely an anthem to New York City, opening it up for everyone.” The title, “The Us That Once Was Them” is a rhythmic nod to the original lyric line, “the New Jerusalem.” He showed it to us earlier this week and the Kleenex boxes were promptly emptied. Now it’s your turn.
Anyway, here it is:
"The Us That Once Was Them" [sung to "Let the River Run" by Carly Simon, 1988] Lyrics by A Man Called Da-da Let the shadows run Let all the dreamers Come together Anew, the Us that once was Them Past the cities rise The dimming skies The calls for freedom And hope to make us one with a song I cry, my heart is breaking Waking, Caring, Oh, my heart is racing We're comin' to the end Runnin' 'cross the water Comin' in to mend Our sons and daughters We with Love for all Stand side by side And blaze a lifeline of love Through darkness into dawn We cry, our hearts are breaking [solo] Come home with Us now To the land of the green and the blue And the light never seen Through the eyes of another [chorus] Oh, our hearts are aching We're comin' to the end Runnin' 'cross the water Comin' in to mend Our sons and daughters Let your race be run Let all of us Become one nation Anew, the Us that once was Them Let the shadows run Let all the dreamers Come together And light, the Us that once was Them. --
